Assignment 3: Introduction to Earth Science System Thinking and Analysis
Read "preview of Earth's spheres" handout (also a e-copy to the left).
Then read the Earth Science Systems and think about the connections between the event and the sphere's that they present.
Think about the connections between the spheres that are described. Write a practice ESSA witht the event as Rain, Hurricane, Gulf oil Spill.
Assignment 4: For the scenario described on the the following link: Global Climate Change Argument do the "Earth System Science Analysis".
Use Global Warming as the event.
State how it affects each sphere and how the spheres effect each other as relevant to the event. Use the link above as a guide and reference. Come up with an example of each of the ten types of connections. due Oct 4th 2010 by class.
As you come up with your connections begin to develop a list of questions. Research out some of your ideas.
Assignment 5: Choose/ write a question from our discussion and from you Earth System Science Analysis to research and begin research. Record the sites you find on your delicious account. Your goal is to answer your specific question. Remember to write descriptions and I suggest you use tags as well. You may come up with other questions as you research. Just write them down. Present the information you have researched in a short paper. Include your sources. We will work on researching on the web and share ideas in class. Please submit your research to me electronically (by email) .
Assignment 5 part 2: Evaluate 2 or 3 of the websites that you have used. Use the evaluation grid and your notes of evaluating Websites.

(Or to work more independently, students can create a prezi.) First consider the content you would like to cover. Then choose. Be careful not to let the technical choices swamp the content. Please revise your scenario and send me the update by ---. We will break into groups -----.
